Community liaison

Liaison between CEMEX UK and the local community at Southam is led by a local liaison committee which includes representatives from local parishes Stratford District and Warwickshire County Council.

The Liaison Group usually meets twice a year, but more often if there any particular issues. For example, during the planning application for a Climafuel Manufacturing Plant on the site, the group met every few months.

The purpose of the liaison group is to provide a forum where the company can share information on operations and future plans as well as presenting the opportunity for representatives of the community to raise any issues or matters of concern and ask questions of the company.

The group is chaired by Len Gale, a former Southam Town Councillor, and includes the following members:

Bob Stephens, WCC
John Appleton, WCC
Chris Spencer, SDC
Steve Kittendorf, SDC
Jennie Ellard, SDC
Howard Collerson, Stockton PC
David Cobley, Long Itchington PC
David Fry, Marton PC
Jason Ward, Southam Town Council
David Knee, Princethorpe PC
Bill Ratcliffe, Princethorpe PC
Matthew Williams, WCC Planning Officer
David Hudson, Environment Agency

CEMEX representatives include Ian Southcott, Martin Lithgo and Juan Maury, and any other specialists as required.
