Community support

The cement plant contributes to the community of which it is a part in a host of ways. When we can, we like to give practical assistance and donations.

A helping hand

AT the end of 2012, the cement plant helped youngsters at South Ferriby Primary School with the planting of rare varieties of Lincolnshire apple trees in its garden to celebrate the end of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.

The photograph above shows Environment Manager Kevin Groombridge with two young
members of the planting team.

The cement plant has also been pleased to support the following charities so far in 2013:

  • Barton Lions
  • Help for Heroes – employee’s son taking part
in Dover to Barcelona Banger Run
  • Lincolnshire 4x4 Response
  • Macmillan Nurse Palliative Care Fund at
    Scunthorpe General Hospital
