Helping local causes

We operate grants schemes that provide help to local charities and other worthy causes right trough the year. Our support is especially important at Christmas.

Supporting the needy

With Christmas approaching, we are providing a variety of support for projects in and around Rugby designed to help people who face life challenges. Both the CEMEX Foundation and the Rugby Group Benevolent Fund have made donations to local causes that are running specific events for Christmas. Meanwhile, several new longer terms grants have also been agreed.

CEMEX Foundation is once again supporting the Benn Partnership Centre Christmas Day lunch with a donation of £600. The Rugby Group Benevolent Fund, a charity independent of CEMEX but with close links to the company, is giving £500 to the Rugby Foster Care annual Christmas party and a further £500 to the Rugby Christmas Cracker, a young person’s cafe and radio station.

Meanwhile, employees on the fourth floor at CEMEX House in Rugby are organising a collection of food, clothes and other items people for people supported by the local charity Hope 4 over the Christmas period and beyond. The long established charity provides support for the homeless and those sleeping rough.

In addition to this, and as part of the company’s “Lend-a-Hand” volunteering scheme, some CEMEX staff will be helping to serve food and hot drinks at the Hope 4 centre during week commencing December 16. To aid their efforts, the CEMEX Foundation is topping up the collection with a donation of £200.
